Guided Scooter Ride of Montreal - Details

The MS Guided Scooter Ride of Montreal enables you to see the best of what Montreal has to offer in a relatively short amount of time. Although most people have little to no difficulty riding a scooter, individuals who struggle with balance on bicycles, are afraid of city traffic, or are accident prone in general, should think twice before taking this tour. If any member of your group falls into the above categories, it is possible for them to ride with a guide or another member of your group who is comfortable with a passenger, but the price remains the same per person. Although some history and interesting information about Montreal is provided, the MS Guided Scooter Ride is not a comprehensive historical tour of the city. Each rider will be given a brief tutorial on how to ride a scooter before the tour begins, but the tutorial is not a substitute for a full scooter course. For new riders, the learning curve could be anywhere from 5 - 30 minutes. The tour begins in Old Montreal with lower speeds and progresses to faster speeds over the course of the tour. More experienced riders can skip the Old Montreal section in order to maximize their time at other locations.

For regular group sizes of 5 or less, please arrive at the time of your scheduled tour. Paperwork and helmet fitment will take about 5 - 10 minutes, the tutorial will take 10 - 20 minutes and you should expect to depart approximately 15 - 30 minutes after your arrival. Larger groups of 6+ should plan to arrive 10 - 15 minutes earlier than their scheduled tour time.

1 Hour Introduction to Scooting / Instagram Tour (Private Tour)

This tour is for you if you want a 2-wheeled hero/heroine to take you to a magical Montreal location where you can take photos to show the world how amazing your life is. The guide teaches you how to ride a scooter, safely takes you to the promised land (so you can concentrate on driving and not the navigation), and then acts as your personal photographer and chaperone. Because this tour is intended for beginners or social media addicts, it is only available as a private tour. If everyone in your group is a beginner, the maximum group size is 4. If everyone in your group already knows how to ride a scooter, the maximum group size is 10.

  • If you book a semiprivate tour for 1 or 2 people, there is the possibility of another group of up to 2 people joining your group. If you think a member of your group will have a longer than average learning curve in operating a scooter, you must book a private tour.

  • If your group consists of 1 or 2 people, and you wish to guarantee privacy, you may opt to pay $10/person more for a private tour.

Rough Itinerary

Habitat 67 (discover the secret surfing location in Montreal), Montreal Casino, the Biosphere, La Ronde Amusement Park, a lap around Isle Sainte-Hélène, across the Jacques Cartier Bridge back to the island of Montreal, followed by a short break at Saint Viateur Bagel or Fairmont Bagel for a famous handmade Montreal Bagel. Then it's time for a quick stop at the top of Mont-Royal, ending with a quick ride through the financial district back to MS. Due to the high level of construction in Montreal, summer festivals and other special events that result in road closures, tour routes may need to be altered. MS cannot guarantee the route but will always strive to optimize your tour experience with alternate routes and stops.
